Chapter I General Provisions

Article 1 The name of this association is “MPA Alumni Association of Southwest Jiaotong University”.

Article 2 This association is a social organization voluntarily associated by the MPA Alumni of Southwest Jiaotong University with the concurrence of The Alumni Association of Southwest Jiaotong University, which this association is affiliated to.

Article 3 The aim of the association is to strengthen the links between the alumni and the Alma Mater, the links between the schoolfellow, to encourage the alumni to carry forward the fine traditions “cultivating talents for the rejuvenation of Chinese nation, persevering in the betterment of individual merits”, and to contribute to the development of the schoolmates, the Alma Mater, and the modernization and prosperity and strength of the country.

Article 4 This association is subject to the supervision of The Alumni Association of Southwest Jiaotong University.

Article 5 The correspondence address of this association is MPA Education Center of Southwest Jiaotong University.

Chapter II Scope of the Activity

Article 6

(1) Providing convenience and the platform for the communication between the alumni and the Alma Mater, between the schoolfellow, and forwarding mutual affective interaction;

(2) Acquainting with, caring about and supporting the development of the Alma Mater;

(3) Carrying out scholarly communications;

(4) Organizing activities for promoting friendship between schoolfellow.

Chapter III Membership

Article 7 Every MPA graduate student of Southwest Jiaotong University who support this constitution and join the association voluntarily can apply for membership.

Article 8 For the student whoever studied (or was trained) at School of Public Administration (or the related major that has something to do with this school) , or anyone who had (part time) worked at this school, if they support this constitution and want to join the association voluntarily, they can apply for membership.

Chapter IV Rights and Obligations of theMember

Article 9 Rights of the Member

(1) The right to vote, the right to be elected and the right to vote when electing organization members;

(2)attending the various activities of this association;

(3) The right to criticism, supervision, suggestion.

Article 10 Obligations of the Member

(1) Obeying the Constitution of this association;

(2)Accept and finish the task consigned by this association;

(3)Safeguarding lawful rights and interests of this association.

Chapter V Generation and Removal of Organizations and Person in Charge

Article 11 Members' Representatives' Council is the highest authority of this association, whose official power contains:

(1) The formulation and revision of articles of Association;

(2) The election and removal of directors;

(3) Reviewing the work report of the Executive Council and the financial report;

(4) Decides to terminate.

Article 12 The term of the Members' Representatives' Council is 4 years, if the election of the new council has to be held in advance or delayed, it must be voted through by the Executive Council. And the election should not be delayed more than 1 year.

Article 13 The Executive Council is the executive body of the Members' Representatives' Council. The former directs the work of this association when the latter is not in session, and it is responsible for the latter.

Article 14 Rights and Obligations of the Executive Council

(1) Organizing activities for promoting friendship between members of this association, strengthening the links between the alumni and the Alma Mater, the links between the schoolfellow, according to the actual situation. In order to further the communication and mutual affective interaction between the members, there must be one activity for promoting friendship every year.

(2)The Members of the Executive Council shall meet no less than once a year.

(3)Discussing and deciding the working plan and major issues of this association.

(4) Compiling the information of the alumni.
