On December 12th 2012,Ms Su,the officer of Cultural and education section of the British Council in chongqing,and Mr Liang ,the IELTS officer ,were invited to delivers a report on the England Culture and the knowledge about IELTS for our school students on the library no.2 hall in XiPu campus.The lecture was hosted by LeiXuchuan,the dean assistant of School of Public Administration,and teacher Chen , the Responsible Officer of British Higher Education Department.

At the first,Ms Su introduced the excellent history and culture of British Islands.Then she introduced the long history of higher education in Britain.Mr Liang unscrambled the requirements and rules on IELTS. The lecture began with a Prize Quiz about the contour of Beckham's right face and ended with enthusiastic dialogue.The atmosphere is very cheerful.All students actively vied to answer the question that the consulate officer proposed .Officers Presented the British souvenir for them. More than one hundred students attended the lecture and they Showed the enthusiasm for study in the UK.

At the end of the lecture, the teacher of British Higher Education Department,ChengYi made us a particular introduction about the 1 + 1 Britain master project consultation and answered the question that students asked. All our students thought that the lecture is very worth.

In the end ,assistant Lei and two officers of the British Council awarded the scholarship to excellent student of “Sino-British Straight

Master project”.

This lecture made a perfect end to the activity about “ British Culture Week”.This program planed by the School of International Education, and undertook by the British Higher Education Department .

The British Higher Education Department belonged to the School of Public Administration ,which is managed by the School of International Education,totally takes charge for the study abroad project in British of Southwest Jiaotong University. British Higher Education Department will integrate the educational resources of both Southwest Jiaotong University and more than 30 schools of British ,which aim at building an normal ,advanced,professional and open platform for international education and academic communication.
